‘Cause I know this is not
Anything like you thought
The story of your life was gonna be…
God’s plan from the start
For this world and your heart
Has been to show His glory and His grace
Forever revealing the depth and the beauty of
His unfailing love
And the story has only begun
And this is going to be a glorious unfolding
Just you wait and see and you will be amazed
We’ve just got to believe the story is so far from over
So hold on to every promise God has made to us
And watch this glorious unfolding

Normally, you’d be seeing the next post in the Basic Photography series, except that I’ve had a lot going on ever since my dad spent some time in the hospital.
He had been fighting stage 4 lung cancer since October (that was an out-of-the-blue diagnosis!) and started having some breathing issues in the middle of January which caused him to be admitted. He was able to come home for a day, but complications stacked up and back we went. Throughout this whole season of illness we have seen the Lord’s providence, and while the last couple of weeks have been hard, God is still good :)
Papa went home to be with Jesus on January 27 and we are so grateful for the peaceful transition from earth to glory that he had. We were surrounded by dear ones through the very end and though we miss someone in the house, at the table, in the family photos, our hearts are rejoicing.
Some happy things made the following days easier :) Our church family & neighbors brought meals, friends sent cards, texts, called, and visited. My sister and nieces came into town and stayed for about 10 days!
The next day, Catrina & I attended Laura & Mike’s wedding! It was a lovely evening and I’m looking forward to seeing the photos from Chandra’s Collection
We are all adjusting to this new normal as a family of 4, and papa is missed so very much.
But. The Lord is always trustworthy and all His ways are right. There are adventures and countless happy moments ahead…and we are thankful :)
