When apples & pears call your name, and you keep thinking about that new way to make pie crust you saw in a magazine at the Dr.'s office...you give in and make pie.
Pie should be it's own food group...because, really, it incorporates so many of the other food groups ;)
My niece's first full sentence was "Mo pie".
Pie is excellent for breakfast with whipped cream on top and sausage on the side.
The new pie technique I learned was to mix room-temperateure butter/shortening into the flour mixture, then refrigerate for 30 minutes. Add a little water or cream to bring it all together, and roll out to the desired size. I was excited to try Young Living's Einkorn flour this time, and it turned out super tasty :) It's a breakfast staple for as long as it lasts...
Are you a pie person or a cake person? Or both?
